Expandable content (accordion) – what this section does

The Expandable content (accordion) section groups longer answers in collapsible panels beside an intro column. You can offer expandable rows only, a focused action row only, or both. For the same module type with a cover image or slideshow above the block, see Multifunction Image.

Display variants

  • Expandable panels only – multiple accordion rows without a button row; ideal for FAQs or term lists
  • Buttons only – the right column is only CTAs (link, in-manual page, download); expandable rows are hidden on the site
  • Expandable content plus buttons – full panels for answers or detail, then buttons for the next step

When to use it

  • Frequently asked questions on logo, colour, or template usage without cluttering the landing view
  • Glossaries of abbreviations and terms with definitions on demand
  • Progressive guidance—readers open only the items they need
  • Secondary actions after panels: template downloads or links to related chapters
  • Keeping long legal or technical addenda tidy next to a brief introduction

Option: Expandable content only

Separate questions or sections displayed side by side with their own dropdown menus — ideal for FAQs, a glossary of abbreviations, or step-by-step instructions.

How do I add another accordion item?

In the Panel, add a row using the "Expandable content" structure. Each row has a heading (visible in the tab header) and text that appears when expanded.

Does it support drop-down text formatting?

Yes — bold text, links, email addresses, files, code, and bulleted or numbered lists.

When is this option sufficient?

When you need a clear, structured layout for text without a header image at the top or a call to action at the bottom—such as an FAQ or glossary.

Option: Buttons only

In this mode, the right column contains only a row of buttons—useful, for example, for a brief introduction to the actions readers should take immediately afterward (visit a website, download a document, or go to a related page in the manual).

Variant: Expandable content plus buttons

After readers work through the expandable topics, the row under the last panel points to concrete next steps—a template link, a download, or another manual chapter.

First topic or question

Longer answers stay collapsed until expanded — useful for progressive disclosure of detail.

Second topic or question

Multiple rows with buttons below work well for FAQs that should link to a template page or related chapter.

Third topic or question

After reading the panels, readers still get a clear next step via the CTAs under the accordion.
